Favorite Products for Textured Art

Favorite Art Materials

Here are my favorite products for creating textured art flawlessly.

Favorite Texture

For the perfect fluffy flower petals, Liquitex Light Weight Modeling Paste is the perfect texture paste to use as a base for your acrylic paint. This comes in many different size depending on your budget as well as how many pieces you want to create.

Favorite Palette Knives

The palette knife you use is the foundation of your petal, leaf or stroke. Different sizes are important to create different sizes on your petals. Different shapes will create different shape types. You'll want a variety. I recommend starting with the basic set first and then expand out as you get more practice strokes.

Favorite Acrylics

As a beginner, I like to use the Apple Barrel and Deco Art paints as it takes the guess work out of mixing the colors in your head. I will mix two pre-made colors together to create custom colors but often just keep it simple with the color in the bottle. I am looking forward to learning how to mix colors from scratch but for now, in my time of life of little kids, the Apple Barrel colors let me be creative with less fuss.
